FAQ

This is a list of the most Frequently Asked Questions about my site.

Getting Started:
How do I Download the Graphics?
Just click on the image to enlarge it and then right click (using the button on the right side of your mouse) to save it to your computer.

How do I find images on your site?
I've created a Search Page HERE  . On any of my pages you can also find, additional search options in my sidebars, such as 2 different search by key word boxes, as well as search by category, Most Popular posts, and via my blog archive. (Also, when performing a search don't forget to hit the "previous post' button at the bottom of the page for a more complete selection.)

How can I get good quality prints with my Home Printer?
Please refer to my Printing Primer post, for tips on printing.

What type of Printer do you use?
I use an Espon Printer, that's perfect for crafting!  You can read a post about my printer HERE.

What are your Terms of use?
You can read about my terms HERE.

I'm confused about Copyright Laws, can you help me?
It is a confusing subject for sure, and I'm not an expert, but I do provide lots of info (and some helpful links) on the subject HERE. Just scroll past my terms to see all the info.

Creating:
I love the Vintage Images, but I don't know what to make with them, can you give me some ideas?
Of course! I have loads of projects and tutorials that have been created either by my readers or myself, I think you will find a wealth of inspiration on these pages!

I'd like to do some Transfer Projects, but I'm not sure how to get started, can you give me some tips?
Yes! I've written a post on 12 Easy Image Transfer Methods that covers just about ever type of surface imaginable.

I made a Project with some of your images, how can I share it?
If you have your project on a Blog, you can link it up to my Brag Monday Linky Party. If not, you can upload it to my Facebook Page or add it to my Flickr Page.

About Brag Monday:
What is Brag Monday?
Brag Monday is my weekly Linky Party where you can link up any project that you've made, using one or more of my images!  Each week I feature 2 projects from the previous weeks party, and others are featured on my Craft or DIY Blogs.

Is my Project Brag Worthy... who can link up? It's an open invitation to anyone that wants to participate. You'll need to have your project online somewhere though, so that you can enter a link and join the party. That means your project will need to be on a Blog, Flickr Page, Etsy etc.

When is it? The party starts every Monday Morning, usually around 7 AM Eastern Time and runs until Wednesday Morning. The earlier you link up, the more people will see your project!

What are the Rules for Linking up to the Party?
You can read the rules on my most recent Brag Monday Post.

Additional Info:
I'd like you to find an image for me, do you take requests?
Once a month I do a "Request Day" post on my site. You can add your request to the comment section of my last Request post HERE. If I'm able to find your image, it will be posted on the the next Req. Day post.

I'd like to purchase some larger file sizes of images that you have on your site is that possible?
At this point in time, I'm not set up to do this. It can be very time consuming going through my stacks and stacks of paper to locate an image that I have previously scanned. If I get myself more organized... this may change in the future.

I would like to support your site, do you take Donations?
No I don't take any donations. The best way to support my site, is to tell your friends about it, link to my blog, chat about my site in your favorite chat room, tweet about it, Facebook your friends about it, Stumble it etc. All of these things are seriously appreciated!

What's the best way to contact you?
I prefer contact via Facebook when possible. It's much quicker and easier for me to answer you there, and sometimes my Facebook friends will even step in and help you, if I'm away from my computer all day. You are much more likely to get a timely response via Facebook.

If I Email you, will you Email me back?
Due to the large volume of email that I get, I most likely will not be able to respond to you.  If I were to respond to all of my email, then I would no longer have time to run my blog!  I am admittedly email impaired, I'm not at all organized about it, and I do have guilt about it, but ... it is what it is. Please don't take it personally!

I have some old Postcards (or other assorted graphics) that I would like to share with you, can I email some scans to you?
I have to say, I'm super picky about what I share on my blog. I always try to find things that are unusual, exceptionally interesting to look at, and great quality. When I'm out and about searching for treasures, I reject loads of things that may be old, but that are more commonly found. I feel badly when people are kind enough to send me things, but that I feel aren't quite interesting enough for my readers tastes, or the scan is poor quality, or perhaps I already have too many of that type etc.
Having said that if you have found something particularly interesting that you would like to share, you can email it to me.  I'm not able to personally answer all of the submissions that I get, but I will give you credit if I use your image.
Here are a few guidelines:
  • I can only accept scans of images that you physically own the originals of. Please do not send me downloads that you purchased off of Etsy or found on Google etc.
  • Scans must be 300 dpi
  • The items that you scan must date prior to 1923 if created in the U.S., for all other countries prior to 1900 is preferable.
