Oh, I love these images! I had never heard of auks before, so of course I had to do a little research.; ) I think the larger auk looks like the Great Auk, and the smaller one like the Little Auk. Sadly, the Great Auk became extinct in the mid-1800s, but the Little Auk is currently classified as "Least Concern" on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) Red List.
