The child looks spooky because is post mortem. In victorian era it was quite popular.
ReplyDeleteJanu, Oh, no wonder! I didn't realize they could do that with them standing up, but I just researched it and they apparantly used a device to prop them up like that. Spooky for sure!
ReplyDeleteA sure fire way to tell, is that the person(s) are very in focus. Those old cameras had such a long exposure time, that the living could not stay perfectly still long enough.

ReplyDeleteI do not believe that this photo is post-mortem. The girl is standing stiffly because she had to hold her exact position for a long time to get the proper photo exposure. She's not spooky, she's lovely.
