I have removed the graphic that I posted last night. One of my readers brought to my attention that, there is a possibility that the graphic I posted may still be under copyright. The graphic was published in the U.S. in 1922, however the character in the illustration may still be protected by a Trust, particularly in other countries. I'm just not sure about it, so I have removed it, better safe than sorry! I apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you! If you saved it, I would urge you to delete it as well. I'm usually very careful about these things, but we all make mistakes don't we?
In Other News: Be sure and check out my AFL-CIO Sponsored post on my DIY blog honoring my friend Suzanne, owner of Lucketts Store. There's an awesome photo of how derelict the building was when she bought it and a little explanation about why I left Lucketts.

Isn't the Peter Pan stuff still under copyright because of the trust? Although that probably doesn't cover the illustrations...
ReplyDeleteSo sad....I was just thinking to myself that I should have saved the books I had as a child....I can remember how much I enjoyed the illustrations in the Peter Pan soft cover book, for instance.....
ReplyDeleteKaren, I have never taken the time to thank you for all the work you do. I am a librarian, and I know how the most viligant of us can slip up, all in good faith. You offer so much to us on a daily basis---just a heartfelt, THANK YOU. On a personal note, I still can't get the transfer skill, but I've had fun trying. Enjoy the glorious weekend. Dee Buckingham

DeleteI really appreciate your integrity and honesty. Your site is a fantastic resource for me as a designer. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteDitto to everything already written. I am very new to your blog and am enjoying wandering through your archives. Your integrity is a model for all of us. Thanks so much for all you do!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Peter Pan now property of Disney? Along with a lot of other formerly copyright free characters from our childhood reading?
ReplyDeleteKaren, i can't imagine how you find the time to do all you do. One of the advantages of youth we don't appreciate until we have to slow down to one task a day and two naps!!! Many good wishes to you, MJ
Oh bummer! We are having a Peter Pan party for my son this weekend. Totally understand though.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the warning, Karen. You're amazing! Your post here aptly illustrates the reason why. ^_^
