Old Photo - French Costumed Flower Girls

This charming French Postcard shows 2 young Girls with Fancy Costumes! They appear to be Flower Sellers. On a personal note, I'm struck by the resemblance of the one on the left to a friend of mine that I went high school with. Mary, aka Elena Maria Vidal, is a French Historian with French roots. I can't help wondering if this young girl may have been an ancestor of hers!  Anyway, if you have an interest in French History, particularly Marie Antoinette, then pop over to her site for a visit! You can find her at Tea at Trianon.

  1. Those poor girls don't look particularly thrilled to be posing in their charming costumes, do they?! They look like sisters to me--quite a strong resemblance in their noses and jawlines.

  3. Love it!! There expressions are too cute...like someone made them dress and pose. Reminds me of when my mom would make me wear terrible outfits and pose for the camera when I was young. :)

  8. I love these Victorian flower girls. They are over the top. That's so great that you still keep in touch with your friend who looks like the gal on the left, and who I see has replied to you just above my comment. Heeeeheeeheee! How fun. Happy Friday, everyone!
