My Living Room: The Big Reveal & Huge Giveaway
Today's the day for The Big Reveal on my Living Room Makeover!
You may recall that I selected Sherwin-Williams Gauntlet Gray for my walls, and I am thrilled with how gorgeous that color looks in this room!I love how easily the Chip It! tool brought everything together. I was able to pull from both of the inspiration photos to get the exact look I was hoping for. Sherwin-Williams Bee's Wax color is represented in the natural tones of the sisal rug, and the horse-print frame is a perfect match for Sherwin-Williams (SW) Tricorn Black!
I used lots of white touches (shown as SW Extra White on the palette) to add some lightness and contrast to the gray. This loveseat was previously in my family room, but it really wasn't the right size for that space so it worked out great moving it in here. I popped in lots of pieces of Ironstone from my collection and I splurged on the white glass lamps, but it was sooo worth it!
The mirrors, end tables, coffee table, horse art and chairs all came from the shop that I recently closed down. Perfect timing on that one!
I was so excited to find these Ikat Pillows that incorporate the SW Heartthrob red and the SW Dragonfruit pink!
I've had that long sofa table in my garage for over a year! I may end up painting it to match the coffee table. We'll see!
The print is a family heirloom and I snagged the antique concrete urn at Lucketts. I love displaying old garden pieces inside my home. I still need to fill the urn with something.
This antique secretary is another family piece. I haven't quite finished styling the shelves, but I got a good start on it. I'm planning to add some Ironstone platters and plates to the walls on either side of this piece.
I think the living room looks just as nice as the dining room now!
I think I'm going to enjoy hanging out in this space!
And just as a reminder, here's how the room looked before ...
Very masculine, as it was my husband's library before he moved to another room in the house.
This was my first inspiration photo. I chipped it and used Gauntlet Gray for the walls.
This was my second inspiration photo. I chipped it too and used these colors to pull my accessories together. A big thanks again to Chassity from Look Linger Love for letting me use her dining room photo!

ReplyDeletemy living room is in need of a make over.
ReplyDeleteI loooove the color on the walls!
ReplyDeleteThis room is exquisite! All three rooms in my li'l apartment need some TLC, but the kitchen/dining area is in the saddest shape. I'd love to be able to get a kitchen table, maybe even some cabinets, shelving, or other nifty kind of storage.
ReplyDeleteLove the makeover! It's just perfect for the Graphics Fairy.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to makeover my family room...now it's just plain white, tall walls that seriously need some personality. Please help :)
Love the color. My office/computer room needs a makeover.
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/ChorusKate/status/227483361738911745
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how fresh, modern and elegant the room looks now. I am terrible at imagining how color can transform a room and was so pleasantly surprised with how the grey turned out. I also love, love, love the white accents and steel accent pieces. Karen, when can you come to CT and redo my house!? LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour living room is just fabulous! I'd love to use the Chip It tool to re-do the master bedroom. Our whole downstairs is done, and I have run out of steam AND inspiration!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Reveal! I love the color and the way you've decorated your space. Very Inspiring!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'd love to redo my living room! Oh my goodness, it needs some help!

ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! It looks fantastic! I would love to redo my studio! It needs organization!
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous! Our dining room needs some help. I think I know what I'm doing and then, no I don't. Thanks for the chance to win! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so great!! I have white loveseats and love them..That grey is just right..
ReplyDeleteI love the gray - your room just oozes coziness. :) Would love to redo my dingy den!
ReplyDeleteI really do like how your room turned out. Especially the gray walls. I would redo my office/bedroom. It really does need a makeover!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the way the furniture pops against the walls and the use of color in the pillows. We used Greys in our Guest Room and my husband's Office-and I am loving the new colors...
ReplyDeleteWow -- that turned out beautiful, very elegant! Well, who couldn't use that kind of makeover! hmm -- so many rooms in my house need some tlc. I think I would use the tool and the gift card to either makeover my bedroom (like so many homes, our master bedroom seems to be "the room of last resort" -- just a hodgepodge). Or maybe our "playroom", which, since our youngest is 15, has become the "room of last resort annex" -- maybe it needs to morph into a studio, or exercise room, or office (or all three!).
ReplyDeleteYour room turned out lovely! I'd love to win the giveaway to redecorate my little girl's bedroom!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! I would love to redo my living room....when I stripped off the wallpaper and painted the last time, I realized I painted it the same color as the wallpaper had been! Real original! Just need some fresh ideas!
ReplyDeleteLove your room! I'd love to makeover our office/dining room/school room/craft room - yep, 1 room has all of these responsibilities and it needs help!
ReplyDeleteI am buying a 1870's Victorian bungalow that needs every room chipped; ) I like the mirrors beside the couch and the walls are very dramatic.
ReplyDeleteGutsy to go with a a grey that dark, but it worked, good for you! my kitchen (which was custom-built for the previous owner in 1952) is in dire need of a makeover,I am thinking green for the base cabinets, cream for the uppers, and some kind of pink (but don't tell my husband!) for the walls, but would love to be able to see it before committing to colours. Jeanette
ReplyDeleteYou better watch it....he's gonna wanna move back in there! It's a lovely room.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to give my living room an update. I recently purchased a lovely pair of sage green draperies and moved some prints from another room in there, and it just needs the right color to pull it all together!

Love the look, wonderful choices. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteShara/Just For You!
I'd love to use this tool in my basement and give it a major makeover!
ReplyDeleteKaren, your living room turned out beautifully! I love the gray...it's so elegant yet cozy.
ReplyDeleteI would love to redo my bedroom. It could use a punch of color!
ReplyDeleteI need a whole house makeover but one room would be great!
ReplyDeleteYour new room is so calming and inviting! Love, love the Gauntlet Gray! It would be fun to redo my bedroom using the chip it tool.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to do my craft room with the chip it tool. This is the first time of heard of it. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted: https://twitter.com/vintagejustice1/status/227499354393550849
ReplyDeleteI love the Gauntlet Gray. I'd love to redo my bedroom using the chip it tool.
ReplyDeleteLove the grey. We Bought a new house and I need to do a new nursery. Chip it is the tool for our big projects. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! It's *gorgeous*! I love how the antique secretary really "pops" now; it was sort of lost against the wall before. Everything really flows together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, and enjoy! xoxo
Your makeover is beautiful!! I've been playing with the ChipIt to find the right colors for my new studio (being built in our new storage barn). I was looking for just the right gray for my walls and you found it for me!! My color scheme is dark gray, white, black, deep purple and raspberry pink, with maybe a little turquoise thrown in somewhere, because I love turquoise! Thanks for the inspiration and for all the lovelies from Graphics Fairy.
ReplyDeleteyour room makeover is great! i never would have thought of using that color of grey!! it really looks fabulous.
ReplyDeletethe chip tool is awesome.....my whole house needs a chip tool..if not, just bulldozed and re-built! but, seriously,if i were to redo a room,it would be the familyroom/den....so that we could all enjoy a well-done space to relax and enjoy each other!(i would re-do my bedroom..but with my grandkids living with me,that would be selfish!).
I would love to remodel my living room/ office space.
ReplyDeleteWe have a very small 1 bedroom apt (500 squared feet) and we use our living as on office space as well with two desks.
Absolutely stunning. Love the gray wall color.
ReplyDeleteYou've done an amazing job. Are you an interior decorator on the side?
Thanks for the great pictures.
I am a huge gray fan for a neutral, been using it for years. It is time to do over my living room color scheme, I need to find a light and airy room to use Chipit as there is little natural light in the room.
ReplyDeleteWow...what a beautiful makeover. My (small) but Great Room needs help. Boring color but I have no clue what color to pick...I have been trying to decide for 4 years. I'd love HELP!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow...what a beautiful makeover. My (small) but Great Room needs help. Boring color but I have no clue what color to pick...I have been trying to decide for 4 years. I'd love HELP!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour living room is really beautiful. I keep the chip-it button on my tool bar and use it all the time but not for decorating a room, yet. I will give it a try now. My living room is gold and I'm ready to repaint with something more subdued but still want a color with some punch. I'm thinking your darker shade of grey may be for me, too! Also, I absolutely love the way your family heirlooms and new purchases work together for that wonderful eclectic esthetic, which is also my style of decorating. Lots of inspiration here! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm diggin this "Chip It" Tool by Sherwin Williams! I'd love to make-over our overly-bright white living room! I've actually been looking at various grey/charcoals like you used - great look!
ReplyDeleteLove the color palette you chose! The gray and oranges is stunning! I need to redo my hallway...a challenge because it wanders though the whole house, upstairs and down, with no real breaks...so that's a lot of whatever color is chosen. But I don't want to do a boring old beige.
ReplyDeleteMy whole house is blah beige. Great for an overall neutral when we moved in, but a bit more than boring now. I'd really love to make over my master bedroom - this girl needs a little retreat!! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteLove your room, I think I would make over my dinning room, lots of ideas, need to come up with a plan
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to do over my bedroom in purple, but that grey is so beautiful I might change my mind and go with a pretty shade of grey.
ReplyDeleteI love your living room. Grey is such a nice change of pace. We just bought a cottage in our historic district. It is a complete fixer, so the next 6 months will be exciting. Would love the prizes, but will use the chip tool to get started.
ReplyDeleteI moved from my home to a small mobile home when my husband became ill. I have lived here 2 years and he recently passed away. I would love to incorporate some of these cool looks into my home and make it truly a place I want to come home to. I know I could do that if I could just win this great give away. I would do my living and dining/kitchen area since they are basically one big room. I could paint my dining furniture, my cabinets and my walls, how great would that be. Love what you have done and thanks for letting me enter. cdolls@live.com
ReplyDeleteWow! Your makeover turned out great!! I would love to redo my really blah living room. Thanks for doing the giveaway . . . maybe I'll get lucky :D

i would love to make over my family room and make the walls more neutral and stuff in the room more colorful.
ReplyDeleteerincyoung (at) yahoo.com
I would re-paint my kitchen and my living room. There is a lot of natural light and it is difficult to find the right color that brings the two rooms together. Chip It looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteOMG I so love this room I have been thinking about going gray - walls are beige now boring I despertly need to redo my kitchen Need new cabinets-just need to dump everything and start from scratch- I have no kitchen cabinets now trying to decide what to do don't want tradtional cabinets-want to do beach/vintage/country maybe red/blue/gold any ideas out there
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen needs a definite makeover, no wall space so paint colors would be a big part of freshening the space.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to use chip it and the money in my craft room. I need some color and some serious organizing! It always seems like momma's space is the last one on the list.
ReplyDeleteI love that color! Your sofa looks awesome against it! I would redo my son's bedroom....it needs it badly, as does the entire house but you gotta start somewhere right :)
ReplyDeleteThe gray worked wonderfully! I'd love to make over my kitchen or bath. Both are terribly outdated.
ReplyDeletefabulous! i'll soon be moving into my new studio & out of our library...so, the library will be a blank canvas...ready for a new face!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the gray! Although my entire house needs a re-do, I'd settle for starting in the living room.
ReplyDeleteMy husband's office is a 30 yr old shade of dark green. "Makeover" doesn't even begin to explain what needs doing in there!
ReplyDeleteI am itching for my husband to go out of town so I can redo his "man hut" -- it's not quite cave status yet!
ReplyDeleteVery elegant, Karen!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I think the grey is beautiful, and with that pop of color, wow! I would love to re-do our office workspace, but really any area will do. Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteYour room looks amazing! You really pieced everything together well. Actually, we are remodeling a tiny little cottage for my husband and I to live in right now! It is very small, but also adorable and will have some amazing pieces (claw-foot shower pan anyone?). So if I won I would put it towards all those extra little things that sometimes have to be given up because of other expenses.
ReplyDeleteLovely room! My whole apartment needs a makeover however we are hoping to buy a house this year so new paint would be a great gift!
ReplyDeleteMy great room needs some help! I just bought a new couch but that's it so far. Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteKaren your room looks great! I'd love to redo my bedroom and I'm thinking a grey color would be beautiful!

I've been putting off painting my home office for three years...its gotta be just right. Would love to be a winner
ReplyDeleteHi there, what a great space!! Love that white couch, I could NEVER keep awhile couch white:) I would absolutely love to redecorate my basement space. It has great potentional, but needs some funding:)
ReplyDeleteWow! That came out gorgeous! I just bought a house and almost the entire thing is white inside (with the exception of a lavendar bedroom). EVERY room needs color (I like color and lots of it!) I think I'll start with the family room, which is going to be the colors of sea glass. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteLove the way your room turned out. I would love to finally paint my living/dining room the right colors to match my favorite painting!. Thanks for the chance to win. I tried to post this comment a little bit ago but I got an error so sorry if it shows up twice!

ReplyDeleteThat gray is awesome in your space, love it. Thanks for such a fab giveaway!

ReplyDeleteLove the gray! My living room is red too and I'm ready for a change. It's been the same for 15 years! The fabric on my sofa and two chairs is faded and has a few minor tears. My master needs help too! Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteVery nice makeover! The new color works for you.
ReplyDeletePlease. don't enter my name into the giveaway..
I just wanted to comment about the awesome makeover.

Love what you've done, looks like something right out of a magazine. You did such an amazing job!!!
ReplyDeletemy blog - http://barnyardchic.blogspot.com/
Wow! That is beautiful. I'm thinking your husband doesn't make a beeline for the sofa and take off his muddy boots in that room! :] I would love to paint/decorate our bedroom using colors from an old quilt my mother gave me. I'm leaning to a soft coral, but I'll see what palette CHIP IT produces!
ReplyDeleteWonderful makeover!!! Love those pops of red!
ReplyDeleteI would chip my dining room! Took the wallpaper off ages ago and still need to paint!
I love how beautiful your room turned out. Love the grey:)
ReplyDeleteFrancine
Your room is gorgeous! I'd love to make over my master bedroom. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletePam
Oh my goodness, I think I would begin working (again) on my bedroom. After almost a decade of the same walls, I'm ready for a change.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance,
Judy
I have a kitchen with painted cream colored cabinets that opens into a small dining area and TV watching area. I'm struggling with finding a color that looks good in all the areas. Think I may need to paint the cabinets white, because lately I love all things blue and the deep cream on the cabinets just doesn't look great with any of the blues I select.
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen needs a paint job. The trouble is I have multi-color granite counters that are going to stay and they need to be matched. I cannot bring them to the store obviously so this tool might just be the way to figure out cabinet and tile colors I need. I am going to take a picture of the room and see what happens
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have a tool like "chip it" to see what your room would look like before you did it. The result is lovely. (It's so much better than the tiny paint chip you get in the store. Wonderful post, beautiful home, and great photos. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteAngie
So pretty, Karen! I love the grey. We chose a color similar to that for our sons room several years back and he never gets tired of it. He is buying his first home and plans to do the living room that color because he likes it so much.
ReplyDeleteVery, very pretty!
Mary
The grey is lovely. I so need to paint our guest room. It is the original builder beige and needs a facelift.
ReplyDeleteI love gray rooms! I would use the chip-it tool to work on a new color for my bathroom or living rooom.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do my kitchen, my living room, my dining room and my bedroom. The kids' rooms have just been done, but the main areas of the house are rather sad.
ReplyDeleteI am a perpetual painter. I love the new energy painting and redecorating brings forth. I am really loving all the grays being shown so I would like to redo my living room with that as my inspiration. Thanks! ~ janice harleybabe1007@yahoo
ReplyDeleteLove your new space,my husband was wondering where your wings are(you are the graphics fairy after all,the woman who takes up a large part of my life)
ReplyDeletewhat a great tool! I would use this on my kitchen...
ReplyDeleteI finally have an office ... I'd use it there!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Your room is gorgeous. I don't know if chip it could help my dated living room, but I'd love to give it a try. I've had my navy furniture since 1990 and went from one old house with a yellow living room to our current house with a yellowy gold living room and I'm tired of it!!!
ReplyDeleteThe main room of my somewhat open floor plan is awkward! Not only could I put the gift cards to good use, but I could also use help decorating it!
ReplyDeleteOur master bedroom could use a re-do! Your room looks wonderful - I love that grey color.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! This room looks AMAZING!!! And talk about a generous giveaway!!! We are moving into a new house in about 3 weeks...and I am getting ready to do a lot of make-overs in that house, but I would probably start with either my daughters room, or the living room...or just start with the priorities and do the craft room! Decisions, decisions! Thanks for the peek into your space - and the amazing giveaway!!!

I have just fallen in love with grey walls, this is so beautiful! I would love to redo our bedroom, it's feeling a bit blah right now. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of doing my bedroom in a similar gray color but could definitely use some help! I'll be planning a nursery in te near future too though so its a tough choice.l..
ReplyDeleteWe did my son's room in a similar gray and I love it. Your living room color and redo are gorgeous. I would love to redo my (very dated) living room!
ReplyDeleteTweeted about this super promotion. https://twitter.com/onceonafirefly/status/227621960086061056
ReplyDeleteOh wow. That is sick gorgeous. I'd definitely pick my bedroom. I'm okay at doing everything else in the house, but my room is the last to get any attention. All to often "just go throw it in my room" is the solution. The chip it tool looks brilliant. Might have to try that even if I DON't get picked. :<)
ReplyDeleteI love the strong greys and the pink and red to accent! Very lovely. I need to chip my living room. We just bought caramel brown sofas, just as brown is going out and grey is coming in! So I need to find a way to disguise the brown and make the room look contemporary. This one is still in the last millennium!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you had to close your store. The silver lining is that you got to use some of the merchandise in your home. Your living room looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI need to redo my living room. I'm going to buy new slipcovers and make new pillows. I'll probably do my chip it from the fabric I choose. I think I want to have aqua accents this time. The last time I redid my living room in 2010 I had one wall with dark pumpkin orange and had amber and gold as accents around the room.
What a nice home. I love the wall collor.
ReplyDeleteYou always give us such great stuff! Now ChipIt!
ReplyDeleteI would like to make over my daughter's bedroom. She will be going to university in October and it would be so cool to have a great new fresh decor for her when she comes home for Christmas. The current scheme has been in place for 10 years and was even brought from our last house because of the curtains I had made her and the toning colours of her existing bedding. While she still likes the curtains, she is bored with the bedding and has taken to using a Cath Kidston type print from my stash of guest bedding, which just so does not go with the decor! I am longing to get my hands on that room!
I currently have paint strip samples hanging from the walls in my living room so that's definitely the room that's at the top of my list. I love your room makeover!
ReplyDeleteWow - what a fabulous wall color! I LOVE it combined with the bright pop of color in your pillows, the warmth of the secretary's wood tones, and the white. You did such a great job making over this room! I hope you're enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteWe have a finished basement that is basically a blank slate - it has absolutely no decor, just some mismatched furniture and a tv. It definitely needs some life!! I'll have to try the Chip It tool to pull together ideas for the space!
Thanks for the chance for this fabulous giveaway!
Karen, I absolutely LOVE the room! That gray is so soothing. We have just finished redoing our bathroom, (including replacing the vanity, sink and toilet), and I'm beat! But I still need to find something for a blank wall, (I wanted the James Dean portrait of him peeking out from his sweater but my husband refuses to allow a picture of a man "looking at him" in the bathroom). Anyway, we did the room in a deep and light gray and I love the way it turned out.
ReplyDeleteNow, we need to focus on our boys' bedrooms - two bedrooms and a bath in the "A" of our A-frame, and both of them have very different tastes so this is going to be quite a challenge....
Oh my goodness gracious - it's GORGEOUS!!! I'd love to use that palette in my upcoming bathroom... it would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove it, girl!
Karen,
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible transformation and wonderful example of the "wonder" that is
"Chip It!" I especially love your case goods....the coffee table and side table are fantastic, but, those slipper chairs....they are so delicious I could literally EAT them!
Great job, fantastic inspiration....as always!
We are about to move into a new house so I'm not lacking in rooms to decorate but I'm really excited about the new family room and library.
ReplyDeleteivonaaf {at} yahoo {dot} com
Your room is gorgeous. It takes effort to pull off this look with the greys and not all can do so as elegantly as you have! I like our living room with neutral tones but am looking for a color change. But if it means buying new furniture etc to go with the new look, that might be challenging!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a lovely makeover on this room and I really like how the sisal rug enhances the grays. Beautiful!
ReplyDeletexo wendy
Great looking room!I used gray paint in my bathroom and love it! I would redue my bedroom:)
ReplyDeleteSo comfy and elegant! I'd love to splash something lovely over every inch of the "builder's beige" I have now.
ReplyDeletelove the makeover!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to makeover my living room. It looks a little boring right now.
ReplyDeletefelecia@twinoaksfl.org
Just stunning! My livingroom is constantly evolving and somehow I've never been able to make it exactly what my mind imagines.
ReplyDeleteYour living room looks so sophisticated now! I would love to redo my bedroom. Or the hall bathroom.

ReplyDeleteI would love to make over my dining room. We just painted our chairs black (they are 1980s oak) and what a difference it made. I'm thinking a gray-green on the walls and red for the accent color. Would love to win your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteFrankie Kins
frankie.kins@yahoo.com
That is absolutely beautiful! I love how you also used things that you already had...just moved from other spots....I like to do that as well....
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and for the contest opportunity
You did a beautiful job! I'd use the Chip It tool for my living room, too. I have some amazing pieces but am still trying to bring the whole look together and it seems Chip It can really help you do that which I learned after reading your post. Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteOh, your room is just beautiful. I would love a chance to makeover my anything. My whole house is in need of a makeover. Thank you for sharing and the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteOur kitchen opens up to our living room, with just an island separating them. We just recently painted our kitchen an olive green, with white cabinets, and matte black and maroon accents. I would LOVE to be able to repaint our living room now and get it out of the 1970's. It would make the entire 2-room space look SO much better. I am also thinking of grey walls, as I think it would tie in nicely with the kitchen colors. There is so much I could do if I won this giveaway....thank you so much for the chance!
ReplyDeletejackieinmi67@gmail.com
WOW! Your living room is Outstanding. It really looks great.
ReplyDeleteI like your throw pillows and vase of flowers to give that extra 'pop' of color to the room.

Your living room turned out GORGEOUS! I like it so much better than the red. I would never have thought to paint walls grey, but the more I see people doing it, the more I love it!
Fingers crossed that I am the lucky winner and can do some MUCH needed redecorating in my living room.
Thank you for the opportunity!
jackieinmi67@gmail.com
I think my kitchen or master bedroom could use a little help. We make a lot of our own things out of recycling old broken furniture and turning it into something else. Those 2 rooms have been set aside and could use a little pick me up!!
ReplyDeletemy kitchen is next! We re-did it when the kids were but need more storage. I would like to take 4 feet out to f the side and build a pantry. I would like to cut french doors into the back wall, and add a walk out porch. This sweepstakes and the sherwin william prize would sure help!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to repaint my kitchen/pantry ~ it's a sort of almond color with grey cabinets in the kitchen and white in the pantry. I'm not quite sure what color I'd repaint, but I'm partial to yellow and lime green.
ReplyDeleteLoving your living room ~ looks like it's right out of a magazine!
Thanks for the chance!!!
My living room and kitchen need a drastic makeover. Thanks for the chip it video. I am going to try out colors on my living room. Love you gray.

that gray is beautiful, good choice! We recently moved and I now have a studio space that could use a good coat of paint!
ReplyDeleteI really need to completely re-do my combination living room/dining room. The place looks like a post-college apartment with nothing but bad hand-me-down furniture. Not even nice stuff like you have.
ReplyDeleteTweeted it here, not sure how to direct link to a tweet so here is my twitter account: https://twitter.com/Spookeriffic
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome tool! I love it! Thanks for pointing me to it.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to redo my great room. It consists of my family room, dining room and kitchen. We've lived here for 18 years and it is definitely time for a redo! Especially after raising five kids - four boys and one girl - in it! : )
Love it! It came out great!!
ReplyDeleteI need a couple more things for my livingroom and I want to freshen up my bedroom and I am especially excited about redecorating my daughter's bedroom after her wedding -- I will finally have the nice guest room I have always wanted! cindi

i'd love to paint my bathroom with chip it! i have left it white just because i couldn't make a decision on my own. we've been here for about 7 years and i have painted every other room. it was added on and enlarged before we moved in and so the wall shapes are cool...and screams to be painted because of this...but i have just been afraid. with this win, i would dive in and have fun with it! your living room looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThe pillow adds the perfect splash of feminine color to the beautiful gray walls. Perfectly pleasing to the eye. Great job.

ReplyDeleteMy kitchen is small & outdated but mainly just needs paint! I am thinking of redoing the cabinets by painting them!
ReplyDeleteMY living room! It needs major help starting with a new couch!
ReplyDeleteWow Great reveal! I would love to be able to re-do my living/work room. It has a high ceiling painted the same dull sage green as the border around the top of the room and the walls are a light mint color. We have been here a little over 3 years but the bedrooms had to be done first as the previous owners rented it to smokers so scrubbing walls and repainting the rooms for the kids came first. Part of the living room is for the family and the other half has my computer desk and craft shelves. Thanks for a chance to win this!
ReplyDeleteI love the darker gray shade! Our bathroom is in need of a makeover!

Thanks again and good luck to everyone!
My bedroom needs a makeover. I'd love to make it more relaxing and more of a retreat.
ReplyDeleteActually need to re-do a whole house we are closing on August 15th! So excited to make it my own and really excited to learn about the Chip It program. Sherwin-Williams is the only paint we use. We've learned the hard way! Beautiful room!
ReplyDeleteI would love to redo my bedroom - it has so much potential and looks like crap. My husband has a toy collection on his side and my side has all the clothes and whatnot.

ReplyDeletei would love to make over my living room. it has been 17 years and i think it is time! your room look incredible with the gray paint. thank you for this opportunity! would love to win.
ReplyDeleteYour new room looks incredibly fantastic! You really brought the room together well, a wonderful place to hang out, I agree :)
ReplyDeleteI love your livingrom. Great color. I would love to redo my familyroom. My kids are teens and young adults and the room is the same as when they were babies!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I love Sherwin Williams paint, and used to live in New England where I used it exclusively in my home that was built in 1798 in CT, and a subsequent one here in CA... Not to rave, but I found only SW performed well and had the colors I loved! Your room looks terrific, I thought out of a magazine look! And I love the transition of the gray to the red in your dining room... Now if only I could get my house to look as good, sigh. Thanks for sharing! I'm posting as anonymous, but if I win the makeover I'm T. Macko, at flashter2u@verizon.net... good luck to everyone!
ReplyDeleteMy living room could use a complete re-do...color, flooring, furniture, accessories...you name it, this living room needs it! Love your color choices.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love how this all came out!! I'd redo my living room, for sure. It's kind of a mish-mash of lots of things right now.
ReplyDeleteMy living room needs a makeover. The walls are just cream and the carpets are tan. We have lots of photographs hanging around but the placement isn't what I'd like.
ReplyDeleteI am a an artist and until recently haven't had the space to have a studio. My wife finally told me to stop belly aching and clear out the office aka the "junk" room.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to match the room to a specific painting using the chip tool.

ReplyDeleteI would love to make over my upstairs bedroom that is now a hodgepodge of office, golf clubs, unhung pictures, etc. I would love to use the chip tool for some inspiration!
Love the colors and total room! I have a mountain cabin some renters painted horrible colors that I would like to repaint the Living room.
ReplyDeleteAnne
I'd love to make over my living room. We spend tons of time in that room and its currently a hodgepodge mess. I'd really like to bring a more cohesive look to the room so we can enjoy it even more.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to paint my livingroom because it is still white! Love that red pillow too!

ReplyDeleteI love your new room. I am not a gray person but I do love the shade you choose. On my computer it looks like a rich gray blue and the white on the crown molding and ceiling really makes it pop!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of the Chip It tool. Gott check it out.

Your room is gorgeous...it looks like such a good place to relax with friends or a good book. I would like to create my new office/craft room. I'm a freelance writer currently working in the dining room. My craft room is in tiny bedroom. I'm moving everything into the biggest bedroom so I have a space of my own. I want light, and order. I have to have minimal clutter when I write.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I did all the stuff correctly to enter, but I think so: I joined Blogher, referenced this site, commented here and used the chip it tool and put it on my favorites list... would love to win, my house is in HUGE need of a makeover, 22 years old and a mobile home that I'd LOVE to have looking like a fashionable and lovely place to live! Again posting anonymously, but my info is: T. Macko, flashter2u@verizon.net.. don't know how 'anonomously' will tie back to me, hope this works! And hope any redo I conceive will be as great as your room!
ReplyDeleteI want to do my bedroom. I've also been looking into the grays. I want it to be sophisticated yet calming. I love what you did with all the grays. It's great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love your living room makeover. Also I am so thankful for all the vintage graphics you share with us out here.
ReplyDeleteMy living room is in need of a makeover and I would love to use the Chip It tool. Thanks!
You had a great talent for pulling a room together. I would love to do over my office. It was the last in the house to be remodeled.. we started it but never finished.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your room! I've always loved the gray tones! We have a very smallhouse and worry about going too dark! I would love to do work in my living room to update it a bit!
ReplyDeleteWow! Your room turned out beautifully! My kitchen is in serious need of some help! I can't stand to look at it any longer!
ReplyDeleteKate
Your living room is Gorgeous! Great job! I want to redo my library and the Chip it seems just the way to see how to pull it all together. I want to paint my bookshelves, change accessories and re-arrange furniture, but the painting of the bookshelves is a little scary...
ReplyDeleteMy studio, library, computer room, craft closet inhabit the same wee space. A mere 9' by 9' square! I've painted it 6 times (my husband jokes that it use to be a 10' by 10' space). It faces east and looks out upon my street. I watch the joggers and dog walkers in the summer and the sledders and snowplows in the winter. I love this room and hope the Chip It tool will lead me to the ultimate solution. So much the better if I win the Sherwin-Williams Sweepstakes!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful classy room!! I would love to redo my family room with paint and a new sofa.
ReplyDeleteI want to work on my basement. It is finished but I want to make it cozier and more comfortable. I have been moving things around trying to figure it out but what it really needs is some color!
ReplyDeleteYou've done an amazing job with your living area. We are just in the thinking stages of a re-do but haven't landed on anything quite yet. Congratulations on such a wonderful accomplishment!! Be especially blessed, Kathy
ReplyDeleteWe remodeled our kitchen/dining room and knocked out the barrier wall. Now it is open to the living room but it is all mostly painted the same one color.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do my living/dining room walls to separate it from the kitchen area.
Your room is really gorgeous!!

ReplyDeleteI love your room. The colors are beautiful. I would like to make over my living room.
ReplyDeleteYou your room is lovely. Especially like the horse print.
ReplyDeleteOur oldest daughter, who is starting her senior year at college, has officially moved out to an apartment leaving only gum wrappers and odd clothes in her room. Time to redecorate! I'd love to purchase a piece of art and use "chip it" to help me select my ShermwinWilliams paint colors!
Oh my...hmmm. Just one room? If pressed I would have to say that our family room is suffering from a pretty pronounced identity crisis!
ReplyDeleteLove what you have done with your living room. It's sophisticated and elegant but very livable. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done!!!!
I love the gray and this new tool sounds like so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy insides would explode if I won the sweepstakes...I'd redo my daughter's room. She's turning four and I've been wanting to do a princess-themed makeover for her birthday gift. Her favorite colors are purple and pink (or course), but I asked her for an accent color (not sure it she understood what that meant), and she chose yellow. I have some old vintage stuff that's white and I think some new color in there would just be peachy keen!
Thanks for the opportunity to enter the sweepstakes!
You did a wonderful job, love your room, thanks for the inspiration. It remembers me about my own living room, I really need to redecorate it but I just don't know what will be the best way. Maybe this Chipit tool can help me.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to make-over my bedroom! It's seriously out dated.
