Old Graphic - Moon Man Sticking out Tongue!

This is a funny old French Postcard showing a Man in the Moon with his Tongue sticking out! Such an unusual Graphic! The original graphic is the full Postcard at the bottom. But I've removed the Moon from the background, so that you can use him on his own. I've also created one without the tongue. So what do you think? Is he funny or creepy?

  5. Yep there's a creepy factor going on here.. but would make a great Halloween moon, maybe make him really yellow or orange for the occasion.

  6. Yes, I think he's creepy. I too think Halloween would be a good time to use him.

  8. I always thought it was a BEARD (think Col. Sanders)... but with your higher-res original, there, I am now able to recognize the 'lower lip' as TEETH... maybe it was one of those clever cards where it was a smiling moon face (like your edited version, above) and then pulling down on a tab somewhere would make the tongue come down, with the message...

  9. Oh Karen, I'm sure this looks just like the moon man in the movie "Hugo" (recently out on DVD). If you haven't seen it, is a fantastic family movie. Lots of old world/antique setting in Europe. One of my sons just told me he was searching something on the internet, and the old movie they made in the Hugo movie was an ACTUAL French movie that really existed. Would be interesting if this postcard depicted that old movie!

  12. My vote is definitely for Creepy! and the lips are funny, its like the tongue is coming out from under his bottom lip. Weird.

  13. This is fabulous and quite unusual! Many people have recommended "Hugo" to us as well. We still need to check it out. I think this moonman is funny!

  17. Karen -I love this creepy moon face that says "Happy New Year" in French. Thanks for giving us three versions. I do think that the original just maybe my New Year's card for next year! Perfect for a year with "13" in its name!

  18. Yeah that guy looks kinda creepy, his eyes are weird also. Thanks tho for 3 great images. Why he has his tongue out to wish happy new year who knows? Think I like the plain old man in the moon with no tongue. lol You are the best girl.
