Here we have some 1940's Ladies, and a Man, talking on an Old Fashioned Telephone! These are just so quirky and cute I think. It would be fun to come up with some wacky titles for these. Any thoughts?
Well, I haven't seen them, and I have been looking for something like this, and also some little girls from the 40's-50's...so I really thank you for sharing this and all the other things. Not all of us know where to look in all the places...so it's really nice! Thank you!
Thank you for your support everyone! All I can do is post what I have, there's really no extra time in my schedule to search around the web to see who has posted what on their site, if I did that every time, there wouldn't be time to post anything! These came from a vintage book that I got recently at an antique shop, and I do plan on posting more, it is the whole reason I bought the book in the first place!
P.S. itsbebe, there are children in this book too, I'll try to remember to post some little girls next week!
Oh and actually these images remind me of the movie (and play) "Bye Bye Birdie" when the kids all call each other to spread the news that Hugo pinned Kim. Love that song.
Yes, while some of these images may be available elsewhere, you'd have to pay for them. Thank you for this post, Karen! With this poem, MANY of your images could be used:
'When I was just as far as I could walk From here today, There was an hour All still When leaning with my head again a flower I heard you talk. Don't say I didn't, for I heard you say-- You spoke from that flower on the window sill- Do you remember what it was you said?'
'First tell me what it was you thought you heard.'
'Having found the flower and driven a bee away, I leaned on my head And holding by the stalk, I listened and I thought I caught the word-- What was it? Did you call me by my name? Or did you say-- Someone said "Come" -- I heard it as I bowed.'
Thank you so much for leaving a comment on my blog! Although, I am not able to respond to all of the comments left here, please know that they are always appreciated!! Karen P.S. A note to SPAMMERS - Your comments will be deleted, you are wasting your own valuable time and mine.
While these are great, this has already been done at Tackroama. http://tackorama.net/

ReplyDelete'When I was just as far as I could walk
From here today,
There was an hour
All still
When leaning with my head again a flower
I heard you talk.
Don't say I didn't, for I heard you say--
You spoke from that flower on the window sill-
Do you remember what it was you said?'
'First tell me what it was you thought you heard.'
'Having found the flower and driven a bee away,
I leaned on my head
And holding by the stalk,
I listened and I thought I caught the word--
What was it? Did you call me by my name?
Or did you say--
Someone said "Come" -- I heard it as I bowed.'
'I may have thought as much, but not aloud.'
"Well, so I came.'
-Robert Frost, "The Telephone"
Great images, thank you.
ReplyDeleteTitle, how about "Hello Brad?"
