Vintage Graphic Images - French Hat Ladies - Costumes

If you watched the Royal Wedding yesterday, you probably saw a lot of hats, although I didn't see any quite like these!! This is another one from an 1880's book on Period Costumes. These hats were fashionable in France in the 1700's. I just love how Whimsical these ladies look all together here! This would make such a cute card!! The original version is at the top, and I made a few other versions, that look a bit like Toile I think.

In other news: I've added a new blog background on my other blog at Backgroundfairy.com. This one has a pretty distressed blue floral design, that I created from an 1850's Wallpaper pattern.

Vintage Wedding Image - Doves and Scrolls Ephemera

This is a really special little piece of antique Ephemera! Although this was originally used as a Valentine, I think it's lovely for any romantic occasion! The bird and scrolls ornament is particularly enchanting, I've extracted it, and given you two options. Wouldn't it be fabulous on Wedding Stationary?!! The card itself is delightfully worn and torn, and would be great to use in Collage or Mixed Media projects.

Thursday is Request Day - Swallow Tail Butterfly, Lavender Seed Packet, Baseball

Once again, it's Thursday so that means it's request day here at TGF!

Here's what I found for you this week:

An Anonymous reader requested a Yellow Swallow Tail Butterfly. Isn't this one gorgeous?!! I love the little red dots on the bottom of it!

Some time ago a Linda asked for a Lavender Seed Packet graphic. I wasn't able to find one but, I created this one by taking a Lavender botanical image and morphing it with an old vegetable seed pack. I think it turned out quite nice!

And lastly Me 2 U Primitives was hoping for a vintage Baseball Graphic. This one comes from an early 1900's book. Cute!

Well, that's all for this week. Do you have a request for an image? If so please leave it here in the comments section of my Request Day post, and then check back on Thursday to see if I found your requested image (Sorry but I can't fill every request, I usually pick a few each week). Each week I go back and check under my Thursday posts to find what your looking for, it's so much easier for me that way. I'm afraid I'm a very disorganized Fairy, so please, please please Do Not email requests to me, I most likely will loose it if you do. So sorry but I'm a complete mess when it comes to email! I'm afraid they're just aren't enough hours in the day to answer them all, and then I feel horribly guilty.

P.S. Don't forget to use the search box here on my blog, you might find that the image you want is already here!

Vintage Clip Art - Apothecary Label - Vanilla Extract

Recently a reader told me that she makes homemade Vanilla and was in need of a label for the bottles. I though perhaps some of you might do the same so, I dug through my Antique Apothecary book and found this splendid looking label for Extract of Vanilla! The original is at the top, and I've also created a black and white version, and a reverse black and white image as well. I couldn't really see making this one in color, since it is for Vanilla and all. I hope you can use it for something!

Vintage Royal Clip Art - Crest with Crown

With the Royal Wedding coming up this week, I thought it be fun to post something regal looking! This is a wonderful Crest or Coat of Arms from a circa 1840's book! This one shows 2 proud looking Lions, both wearing Crowns, with a third larger Crown in the center. You can find a similar Crest HERE. The two crests would look great framed and hung next to each other, or you could make some regal pillows like the ones HERE!!
