Thursday is Request Day - Map of Africa, Steampunk Globe, Botanical, Horse

Once again, it's Thursday so that means it's request day here at TGF!

Here's what I found for you this week:

Work of our Hands requested a Map of Africa. This image came out of an 1870's Children's Geography book.

From that same book came this darling Globe, for Catherine, who was hoping for some Steampunk images. There are more Steampunk graphics HERE, in the Steampunk section!

Next we have a beautiful botanical, of some black and white Lilies, for Mynnette, to use for a water color project. Nice for Easter too! This one is circa 1890.

And lastly, I've had numerous requests for Horse images lately, and I finally dug one out! This one comes from an 1890's Farming magazine.

Well, that's all for this week. Do you have a request for an image? If so please leave it here in the comments section of my Request Day post, and then check back on Thursday to see if I found your requested image (Sorry but I can't fill every request, I usually pick a few each week). Each week I go back and check under my Thursday posts to find what your looking for, it's so much easier for me that way. I'm afraid I'm a very disorganized Fairy, so please, please please Do Not email requests to me, I most likely will loose it if you do. So sorry but I'm a complete mess when it comes to email! I'm afraid they're just aren't enough hours in the day to answer them all, and then I feel horribly guilty.

P.S. Don't forget to use the search box here on my blog, you might find that the image you want is already here!

Vintage Clip Art - French Desserts

Ooh la la!! The cookbook of my dreams has finally arrived! And no it's not for the recipes it's for these wonderful graphics! This beautiful fancy French Dessert, on an Ironstone platter, is from an early copy of Mrs. Beeton's Cookbook, circa 1860's. The original version is at the bottom, I've made a couple of other options for you, I couldn't help but make a pink and white one. I hope you like this treat!

Antique Images - Lovely Shoes

These are some lovely shoe engravings from an 1850's English book. The beautiful shoe shown above, was a design made for the Duchess of York.

This one shows the detail of a gorgeous shoe clip, according to the book the bow was made of blue silk!

This shoe was designed for Queen Victoria herself! A nice little ballet flat, with lots of pretty detail in the design.

And lastly this funny elf like shoe, was worn back in the 1300's!!! How fun!

Here's another vintage Fruit image from the Mrs. Beeton's book! This one shows some beautiful bright Raspberries on a pedestal plate! I'm offering both versions again, the original one is at the bottom and the color adjusted one is at the top. Someone had asked if I had the gorgeous desserts that can sometimes be found in her books, this book did not contain them, however I have finally located a copy that does, and it's on it's way here from England as we speak! I can't wait to share when it gets here, they are truly gorgeous images!

Vintage Sewing Clip Art - Girl with Pattern and Dress Form

Yesterday I posted a cute sewing girl image from an antique ladies magazine. The one you see here is the sister image, so to speak, and shows a young woman with a dress form and a pattern. I wanted to make sure I posted it today, before I forget... or loose it in one of my piles of paper!! I think the 2 of them would be cute displayed together, maybe on a little wood plaque or a wooden box in a sewing room!

Easter Clip Art - Sweetest Vintage Angel

This is a Vintage Easter card with the sweetest little Angel on it!! I love the gorgeous Lily on this one too. This card has a little ribbon hanger on the original, so that it can be hung on a wall, you could add your own ribbon if you like and do the same. The back of the card reads "to Helen from Grandma", so cute! Helen must have really treasured this little gift from her Grandmother, as it's in very good shape considering it's age.
