Vintage Graphic Images - Fruit Cards - Plum, Strawberry, Pear

It's been a while since I've posted any of these fun little Victorian game cards, so I thought I would add a few more today! These 3 all have a Fruit theme, and they include a gorgeous Plum, a ripe Red Strawberry, and a perfect Pear! All of the cards from this game are a little out of square, that's why they look a bit lopsided, but I think it adds to their charm really!

This is an amazing antique Ackermann Architectural print from 1816! This print has such a great garden style feel to it! This little structure is apparently the entrance to a park. I think this one has so many possibilities for collage or mixed media art. Can't you just see some Jane Austen-esque ladies strolling about in front of this little building?!

This is another one from the wonderful antique type book that I recently purchased, I'm just having the best time playing with the images from that book! This is a gorgeous damask flourish, that I've done 3 ways for you. I thought the black Flourish would work well with the black Fleur de Lis, from HERE. You could also make an awesome stencil out of it!
The soft green and soft tan versions were inspired by The Nester. These are a couple of the colors that she used to decorate her home with. If you get a chance, check out her blog, her home is gorgeous!!!

Vintage Graphic Image - Cherries on a Cake Plate

I've been waiting weeks and weeks for this book to arrive from England, and just when I thought I was going to have to ask for a refund, it showed up in my mailbox!! Yay! Anyway, these gorgeous Cherries are shown here on a Cake Plate or Pedestal. Don't they look festive!! My scanner first scanned this image, a bit on the blue side, as you can see at the bottom. The original is on the top. I decided to offer them both to you, and you can decide which one you like the best. This image comes from an early 1900's Mrs Beeton's cookbook. There will be more of these to follow soon!

Vintage Clip Art - Pretty Blue Bird in Asian Style Cage

This is another sweet bird cage, from the set of scrap pieces that I picked up a little while back. This one has a darling Blue Bird, inside of an ornate Asian cage!
Also, if you get a chance pop over to Rhonna Farrer's blog at Rhonna Designs, to see how she used one of the other bird cages from this collection, as well as some of my other images mixed in with her own. If you're not familiar with her work, (I'm sure many of you are) I guarantee you will flip over her style!!

Thursday is Request Day - Dragon, Geisha, Mardi Gras, Dictionary Page, Farm Background

It's Thursday... so that means it's request day here at TGF!

Here's what I found for you this week:

Micki
requested a Dragon image. This one is green and quite ferocious looking!

Amy
was hoping for a Geisha Girl graphic. This one comes from an old Type catalog!

JeanFB was wishing for something Mardi Gras related. I think a few other folks have asked for the same type of thing over the last few months. This one was also from an antique Type catalog.

Denise has been searching all over for a vintage Dictionary page. I've posted many of the images from this antique dictionary, but hadn't really thought about posting the page. I wasn't sure if she wanted images on it or not, so I scanned a plain one to be safe.

And lastly Johi, requested a Vintage Farm related blog background. I don't normally take requests for my other blog, but this was such a fun theme I decided to make one! This is just a sample of it, you can see the whole thing,(and grab it too, if you like it!) at my other blog at Backgroundfairy.com.

Well, that's all for this week. Do you have a request for an image? If so please leave it here in the comments section of my Request Day post, and then check back on Thursday to see if I found your requested image (Sorry but I can't fill every request, I usually pick a few each week). Each week I go back and check under my Thursday posts to find what your looking for, it's so much easier for me that way. I'm afraid I'm a very disorganized Fairy, so please, please please Do Not email requests to me, I most likely will loose it if you do. So sorry but I'm a complete mess when it comes to email! I'm afraid they're just aren't enough hours in the day to answer them all, and then I feel horribly guilty.

P.S. Don't forget to use the search page here on my blog, you might find that the image you want is already here

Vintage Clip Art - Victorian Lady in Winter

I've actually had this one since last Winter, but I waited a little too long to post it last year and then before I knew it, it was Spring. I feel like I better post this now... or it could happen all over again! Not that I would mind an early Spring! Anyway this is a pretty Victorian advertising piece showing a woman, all bundled up on a blustery day. The back shows an old fashioned Piano. I love the big satin pink bow at the top!

These charming ladies, were submitted by a very sweet reader named Mona! These are actually the covers to some old bridge score pads. I think the colors are absolutely dreamy, and their dresses and parasols are so lovely! Thank you Mona!

Vintage Clip Art - Fleur De Lis - 3 Options

Recently a reader named Julie requested a Fleur de Lis. I've had numerous requests for this image, over the past few months and I finally came up with one! This one comes from a fabulous 1920 Typography book that I just received a few days ago. Even though it's not request day today, I thought I would go ahead and post this anyway, since I wanted to offer several versions. The original is at the top, all though it was teeny tiny, I played with it all morning in both Photoshop and Illustrator until I could come up with a nice clear image in a large usable size. After that I created a second version, with vintage numbers and typography on it, and then a third with some European flair added to it! You can frame these up, or transfer them onto towels, pillows etc. I think you will find a lot of uses for these!
