This is from the cover of a Victorian Children's Book, it's from the Classic Nursery Rhyme, "There was an Old Woman...". So fun! I think it's interesting that the children all appear to be the same age in the picture!!

No thanks! LOL! Maybe I was a weird kid, but I can't begin to tell you how traumatizing I found this image to be when I was just a smitch. Come to think of it, I'm still a weird kid --AND I'm still pretty careful when it comes to putting on my shoes. Switch or no switch, I wouldn't want to step on anyone.

ReplyDeleteIt's frightening that I am so unobservant. Why didn't I notice, as you did, that the childen were all the same age? That's a mystery!
ReplyDeleteIf the rhyme didn't say that "she had so many children she didn't know what to do", I would suspect she had an unlicensed nursery school in her shoe.
