Antique Clip Art - Beautiful Indian Woman with Peacocks
This one has such a magical feel to it! This is an antique illustration from the book Rubaiyat of Omar. The illustration shows a beautiful Indian woman in a sari. Near by are two fabulous white Peacocks! Dreamy!!
This is gorgeous. I'm going to frame this print and put it in my bedroom. The colours are perfect and the subject wonderful. I love Indian themes, the colours are so vibrant. Thanks for sharing. Anne xx
wow!! i LOVE this pic! it's exactly the style of illustration i love. If you happen to find one, I've always wanted something like this for the story of "At the Back of the North Wind" like a picture of her with her flowing black hair and stuff. Looking forward to more in this series :D
I had an immediate inspiration for a project with this graphic! Thank you Karen.....I only hope I can hang onto the idea before it flees my mind. I am going to my sketchbook right now before I forget.
I'm excited you all were so inspired by this one! I actually had a copy of this book that belonged to my Grandparents, and I have been looking for it for a couple of years now, I finally broke down and bought another copy. I'll be sure and post more!
Hannah, There is a picture of a Goddess up in the sky, in this book. Here hair is flowing, but it's golden, not black.
Beautiful image! Thank you. Just a note: you left off his second name, it's Omar Khayyam. One of my favorite books in high school! I remember doing an illustration myself using the words of some of the quatrains to draw with. No idea where it is now. Oh, well. Thanks again.
