Click on image to enlargeIsn't he cute?!! This is a funny green and red Gnome, sitting on a red and white Mushroom, and playing the Accordion. The sweet little birds seem to be enjoying his performance! This vintage image comes from an antique postcard.
I recently found this awesome Movie clip site and thought it might be fun to tie in some vintage images with different movies, that have related themes. This clip is from Gnomeo and Juliet. If you guys like this idea, I will do more of these in the future. Enjoy the clip ... and the clip art!

excellent art and much colors xoxo karen
ReplyDelete1st, I love that gnome!!!!
ReplyDeleteand I'd love the movie idea!
Thanks for both!!!
Thanks for your input on the movie Peggy! I didn't realize it would have an ad, on the beginning of it, it wasn't that way on the site. I hope that won't be too annoying for people.
ReplyDeleteI like the bright colors of the image. The red and white mushroom is supposed to be a symbol of good luck. But did you know that this kind of mushroom, called an Amanita Muscaria, is considered both poisonous AND a hallucinogenic? Supposedly that accounts for some of the more magical happenings in European fairy tales.
ReplyDeletewow the frogs are so cute

Sharon,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Mushroom info! Very interesting stuff!
I love gnomes and that clip is too cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the clip!! I can't wait til the movie comes out. We love gnomes :) And I love that you paired the movie clip with a vintage clip art. Brilliant and fun!
ReplyDeleteLove this gnome! Thank you so much
ReplyDeletethank you for the gnome clip art! I am always looking for something Swedish/Norwegian and this can fit the bill! I'm not sure what language that is at the bottom, but it certainly *looks* Scandinavian. I'll pretend it's a tomten and frame it for my Swedish Christmas display.
ReplyDeleteOK, since I wrote the previous comment I've been trying to figure out what language it really is. I finally figured it out. It is Estonian and the literal translation is "Dear New Year" - "Haad Uut Aastat". "Happy New Year" in Estonian is "Head Uut Aastat" - very similar.
ReplyDeleteI loved Sharon's little trivia bit about the mushroom, so I thought I would share what I learned. I love learning little interesting bits about the fabulous images you share.
Can't believe I had missed a gnome on your site. I had saved this email and found it. My DGD and I swap gnomes back and forth and I love sending her cards!!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
