It's Thursday... so that means it's request day here at TGF!
Here's what I found for you this week:
Here's what I found for you this week:

Amy was hoping for a Geisha Girl graphic. This one comes from an old Type catalog!
JeanFB was wishing for something Mardi Gras related. I think a few other folks have asked for the same type of thing over the last few months. This one was also from an antique Type catalog.
Denise has been searching all over for a vintage Dictionary page. I've posted many of the images from this antique dictionary, but hadn't really thought about posting the page. I wasn't sure if she wanted images on it or not, so I scanned a plain one to be safe.
And lastly Johi, requested a Vintage Farm related blog background. I don't normally take requests for my other blog, but this was such a fun theme I decided to make one! This is just a sample of it, you can see the whole thing,(and grab it too, if you like it!) at my other blog at Backgroundfairy.com.Well, that's all for this week. Do you have a request for an image? If so please leave it here in the comments section of my Request Day post, and then check back on Thursday to see if I found your requested image (Sorry but I can't fill every request, I usually pick a few each week). Each week I go back and check under my Thursday posts to find what your looking for, it's so much easier for me that way. I'm afraid I'm a very disorganized Fairy, so please, please please Do Not email requests to me, I most likely will loose it if you do. So sorry but I'm a complete mess when it comes to email! I'm afraid they're just aren't enough hours in the day to answer them all, and then I feel horribly guilty.
P.S. Don't forget to use the search page here on my blog, you might find that the image you want is already here

ReplyDeleteHi there!
ReplyDeleteI'm a historical romance author who used most of last weekend making a book trailer. One thing I found really hard to find was an image of just a single Victorian gentleman. Ladies everywhere, but no dudes.
Love the site, and thank you so much!
LOVE this blog! I've been looking for a line drawing of different shaped light bulbs! (odd, I know)
ReplyDeleteYou are too kind... Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful and thanks so much!

I love the geisha! We are redecorating my daughter's room and it has a lot of Japanese influence so far, but I need more. More Geisha, fans, Kokeshi dolls, koi fish, or cherry blossoms are all great. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is awesome! I love the vintage images! How do you find all your images? Are you looking in books or internet....just curious. I am looking for architectural plans of houses or buildings. I would love to create some artwork using them. Thanks so much!

Alicia,
ReplyDeleteYes, they are hard to find all alone! I do have a few on my site, in the "Men" category.
Steph,
If you check my "Steampunk" section, I do have a lightbulb with a hand.
Emily,
I have a huge collection of antique books, magazines, ephemera, postcards, advertising cards etc. Stacks and stacks of things! I'm always adding to my collection too, I can never get enough of this stuff!! I think I have a few simple plans in my "Architecture" section. I have more like those, that aren't on my blog, if you need others.
What about chairs? I absolutely ADORE chairs! It would be awesome to have some chair images (or maybe I missed them?)...Thank you for all of this awesomeness!
ReplyDeleteSandra,
ReplyDeleteYes, I have some wonderful chairs Here! You could also search for Settee, if you like those too. All furniture pieces are in the "Objects" section.
Thanks for all your hard work thoughtout the year. You find so many wonderful graphics!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for wine bottles and labels....thank you!! :D

ReplyDeleteLove your site. I am looking for a vintage salon image for my daughters business cards...or vintage women with awesome hair. Thanks for your help.
ReplyDeleteBecca and Colby,
ReplyDeleteDid you see the vintage tooth powder label, that I posted on last weeks Request Day?
I would love to see a vintage plus size gal. From Victorian up through the 40's. Not one from each era, but one from between that time line. Its so hard to find older plus size images.
ReplyDeleteThe dragon is just wonderful, I love him! Thank you so much for finding and sharing him. I'll share my little project as soon as I complete it.
ReplyDeleteDelightedly,
Micki

Fantastic images, love all of them!
ReplyDeleteThank you
thanks Karen, dictionary pages are great - keep them coming! ;-) have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIn your Feb.25 post you say you've recently gotten a Mrs.Beeton cook book. I've seen blank greeting cards, and I think posters, that have images from Mrs.Beeton that show an illustration "plate" of a dozen or so fancy desserts...but I've never found these for sale! I'm trying to find such an image to use as the background in a dollhouse/miniature bakery shop.
ReplyDeleteHi! Do you have any photos of men playing guitars (especially cowboy-looking types), pre-1950? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for trains and all things train related - tracks, tickets, railway maps etc. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to add some interesting pieces to a theater room so I'm looking for movie related images -- like tickets or film reels. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteKaren, thanks so very much for the Mardi Gras image! Love it!
