Vintage Photos - Brides and Grooms

A few months ago I picked up a really wonderful antique photo album. These lovely Wedding photos came from that album. Here we have 3 different couples, all dressed in their wedding day finery. The first one is my favorite, it was attached with some old black photo corners, I liked the look of them, so I scanned them with the photo. So much fun for your vintage collage or mixed media projects!

"It's your WEDDING day! Of course you can't have fun!" Very amazing nonetheless. It's interesting tp see the change wedding photographs have taken.

  7. Great wedding photos indeed!
Mmmh, thinking about Wolfie Loveheart´s comment... I got dozens of vintage family photos where you don´t see people smiling. Seemed to be no habit those days :)
    Thanks a lot for sharing

  8. Wolfie & Anonymous,
The reason people didn't smile for photos back then, was because it took a very long time to get the photo, and they had to stay still for a number of minutes while waiting for the exposure. It's difficult to freeze a smile for many minutes, so therefore a serious expression was the easiest way to keep the face in the exact same pose for such a long time.

  9. Lovely! I have a stash of antique photos and postcards from antique and thrift stores in NY. Love it when they tell a story, if you find a cache from one family or person.
