Vintage Garden Clip Art - Gorgeous Garden Urn

Sick, sick, sick! Ugh! No not this beautiful urn, it's me I'm talking about. I came down with, what I thought was a bad head cold, on Christmas Day, but I've gotten worse each day since then, and so today I'm finally breaking down and going to see the Doctor. Yuck! If anyone can spare a prayer, I could really use some right about now!!
Anyway, I most likely will have to cancel request day tomorrow... it's taking everything I've got to get off the couch each day just to scan and post, these images. And request day usually takes me hours to put together. The next request day will be on Thursday January 6th.
Alright, enough whining for today. I hope you like this unusual black and white urn, I didn't realize before I scanned this, that it had Snake handles, but now I can see that it does. So if you are in need of a Snake handled Urn image... then I guess today is your lucky day!

Vintage Graphic Image - Fabulous Frame - Curtain

I picked up a wonderful 1880's book a few days ago, that is actually an old portrait book of famous people. Some of my favorite images in the book however, are the amazing ornate frames used with the portraits!! This particular frame is made to look like a curtain or drapery, complete with pleated edge and tassels! I can think of so many uses for this one, great to use on the cover of a program, for a school or church play, nice for invitations, great for scrapbooking, a graduation card, etc. I'm sure you'll think of many more uses for it too!

There were actually a set of two, and this is the second one in the set. This amazing advertising card is also from the Boston Toy Emporium, this one is advertising Dolls, Toys and Novelties. When I look at these little cards, I can't help but think of the amazing Wendy Addison. The ornate typography reminds me of her style!

Thursday is Request Day - Vintage Luggage, Child Baking, Grand Bed, Table

It's Thursday so that means it's request day here at TGF!

Here's what I found for you this week:

Quite some time ago a reader named Shoni, had requested some luggage with travel stickers. At the time I had found a plain suitcase and posted it, but today I came across this fabulous vintage leather suitcase just covered with travel stickers! This image comes from an early 1900's ladies magazine.

Christine was wishing for a graphic showing a child, who is baking or cooking, for her local school's cookbook. This darling little girl with the giant mixing bowl, comes from a very old Mother Goose book, gifted to me by a very sweet reader named Gayle. Thanks Gayle!!

Denise was looking for a side view of a bed with linens on it. This bed is almost sideways, and it does have linens on it. I'm not sure if she was looking for something this Grand... but this was all I could find for now!

And lastly, an anonymous reader asked for a table to match some chairs that I had previously posted. I'm not sure which chairs, since I have several, but I think this Victorian table will probably go with most of them. This one dates to the 1850's, as does the Grand Bed above.

Well, that's all for this week. Do you have a request for an image? If so please leave it here in the comments section of my Request Day post, and then check back on Thursday to see if I found your requested image (Sorry but I can't fill every request, I usually pick a few each week). Each week I go back and check under my Thursday posts to find what your looking for, it's so much easier for me that way. I'm afraid I'm a very disorganized Fairy, so please, please please Do Not email requests to me, I most likely will loose it if you do. So sorry but I'm a complete mess when it comes to email! I'm afraid they're just aren't enough hours in the day to answer them all, and then I feel horribly guilty.

P.S. Don't forget to use the search box here on my blog, you might find that the image you want is already here!

Love, love, love this!!! I was so excited to get this in the mail yesterday, I was worried it wouldn't get here until after Christmas, but it made it just in time! Yay! This is the back of an antique trade card, and it has the most wonderful Typography on it!! The card was made to advertise a "Grande Christmas Exhibition" at a Boston Toy Emporium! I've kept it pretty much in it's original condition, I think the staining and wear spots are perfectly lovely. This is such a great piece for collage or mixed media projects!

Vintage Clip Art - Fun Paris Label

Aren't these fun?!!! These are some old Paris labels for "Rats de Cave", which I believe was an old style iron candle holder, that had a curly spiral that held the candle, and was used in wine cellars. I've included a few versions for you to have some fun with. I love how the word Parisian looks on these, such a great looking font!!
