Vintage Halloween Clip Art - Cute Little Pumpkin

This is a fun little vintage die cut pumpkin! I believe this one probably dates to around the 1950s. It does not have a copyright date on it, so I think it's probably okay to use in your art. However just to be safe, I would caution against using this one for something that you are going to sell.

Vintage Clip Art - Eagle Talon - Creepy Foot - Halloween

I thought you guys might be able to use this one for Halloween. It's a bit creepy looking with the scales and all! This is from an early Natural History book and it's actually an Eagles Talon or foot. It might be fun to use on a Halloween themed bottle, as a witches brew type ingredient!

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Here's another lovely piece of French Ephemera from my dear French friend Miette from La Miette Bricole!!! Miette has been digging through some family papers with her Father, in order to share with us some more wonderful things. How nice of both of them! If you would like more info about this piece, I'm sure Miette will be happy to tell you about it. She loves to get comments on her blog, and they don't have to be in French! Merci Miette! And thank you to your Father too!

Vintage Clip Art - Funny Men's Neckwear ad - Label

Isn't this funny!! This is from an early 1900's advertising book. This was a sample ad shown for Men's Neckwear or Ties. How stylish they all look! I've included a second version, with out the typography, so that you can use it as a label or whatever. Perhaps you could use this to organize a man's closet, you could write socks, ties etc. on the labels and adhere them to bins, and then store those items inside. Just a thought!

Request Day - Ferris Wheel, Rollercoaster, Cereal Box, Jelly Jar, German Words

Once again, it's Thursday so that means it's request day here at TGF!

Here's what I found for you this week:

Ceejus requested a Ferris Wheel. This one is not from my collection, but it is from an archived source and is in the public domain. I love the colors!!!

Fran was hoping for a Roller Coaster image. I hope this one will do, it's more like the entrance to a Roller Coaster, but it's very cute! Also from an archived source

Gale was hoping for some products. I found this old image of Pillsbury cereal. So fun!

Sara had requested a Jam Jar, this Jelly Jar was as close as I could get. Gale might like this one too actually!

And lastly Trudy was wishing for some German words or phrases. I have no idea what this means, it's from an early German book and it had an image of a cupid above it, so hopefully it means something nice! Update: I'm told this means "Lyrical Epic Poems". Thanks to all of you that helped with translations!

Well, that's all for this week. Do you have a request for an image? If so please leave it here in the comments section of my Request Day post, and then check back on Thursday to see if I found your requested image (Sorry but I can't fill every request, I usually pick a few each week). Each week I go back and check under my Thursday posts to find what your looking for, it's so much easier for me that way. I'm afraid I'm a very disorganized Fairy, so please, please please Do Not email requests to me, I most likely will loose it if you do. So sorry but I'm a complete mess when it comes to email! I'm afraid they're just aren't enough hours in the day to answer them all, and then I feel horribly guilty.

P.S. Don't forget to use the search box here on my blog, you might find that the image you want is already here!

Vintage Clip Art Image- 2 Birds Nesting

I think this is so sweet! This vintage image comes from an early Natural History book. These are two birds, one in a nest, and one just above keeping watch! I wish I could say these lovely birds have some sort of romantic name, but in fact they are "Warty Faced Honey-eaters". Not very nice, whoever named them!! Still, name aside, I think they are great and would make a wonderful card for a young couple buying their first home.

Vintage Religious Clip Art - Adam and Eve Engraving

This is a beautiful engraving of Adam and Eve. A nice classic image for your art!

Also, it's Monday again. You may recall that Blogher selected me to be a compensated LG TextEd Ambassador, in order to help educate parents about texting and ways to combat negative behaviors, like bullying, gossip and inappropriate content being shared. Each week, during this series, a different topic is featured. This weeks topic is "Sexting". Yikes! But, it is an important topic.

There are five posts that have been written, by Moms, about this weeks topic. And just like the last few weeks, for each comment left on each post, a $.50 donation will be made to the wonderfully good people at DoSomething.org. (which is a great site about getting teens involved with volunteering)!!! You can see read all of the posts HERE and leave any questions that you might have, or your own expert advice for those of you that know a thing or two about this topic.

Instant Art Printable Download - Feathers - Autumn Display

Today I'm offering a really wonderful antique Grouse Feather print, perfect for Autumn! This is another one from the INSTANT ART series and I've included a display idea as well, to give you another easy decorator option for displaying art, no crafting skills required!

Click HERE for the Small PRINTABLE PDF
( about 5" by 7")

Click HERE for the Large PRINTABLE PDF

I've included two sizes for you to choose from, I used a small urn for this display so I used the smaller size print, but I wanted to offer the larger size in case you want to frame this.

Here's the before photo. I just used an iron urn that we keep in our kitchen. It normally holds a bottle of wine.

And here's the after. I just added the feather print, along with a few feathers, some wooden eggs and some shredded kraft paper. So easy!

Vintage Clip Art Images - Seashells

These might seem a bit out of season for some of us, but our friends from Australia are just now approaching the Summer season. (Thanks to Jenni for reminding me!) So hopefully they, or anyone else for that matter, can use these pretty Seashells, from an early Natural History book. The shell at the top is a Cockle, followed by a Scallop and the one on the bottom is a Gryphaea, which apparently is an extinct type of Oyster.
