Thursday is Request Day - Luggage, Topiary, Compass, Lilac, Daisy

Once again, it's Thursday so that means it's request day here at TGF!

Here's what I found for you this week:

Shoni requested some luggage with travel stamps, I did find this cute suitcase. It doesn't have any travel stickers on it I'm afraid, but perhaps you could add some.

Emily was hoping for a topiary in mossy green. This one has a cute little planter with it.

Dawn
was wishing for a Compass. I found this one in an old dictionary.

Amy has been searching for a single stem of Lilac for her Mother to paint. Search no more Amy, here it is!

And lastly, Randi requested a Daisy. Which to be honest, this is not... it's actually an Aster that I tinted white to look more Daisy like, which is about the best I could do. So there you have it, a Daisy-ish graphic. I do think I have other Daisies on my blog, if you use the search they should pop up!

Well, that's all for this week. Do you have a request for an image? If so please leave it here in the comments section of my Request Day post, and then check back on Thursday to see if I found your requested image (Sorry but I can't fill every request, I usually pick a few each week). Each week I go back and check under my Thursday posts to find what your looking for, it's so much easier for me that way. I'm afraid I'm a very disorganized Fairy, so please, please please Do Not email requests to me, I most likely will loose it if you do. So sorry but I'm a complete mess when it comes to email! I'm afraid they're just aren't enough hours in the day to answer them all, and then I feel horribly guilty.

P.S. Don't forget to use the search box here on my blog, you might find that the image you want is already here!

Lovely Lady in Gorgeous Blue Costume

This is yet another image from the "accidental" antique mall shopping spree from last week.
See... I told you I bought a lot of stuff that day! And I've got plenty more too! Anyway, this one is a lady in the most gorgeous blue dress. Love that pearl collar!! She looks Elizabethan to me. Although the card itself was probably made around 1900.

In other news:
I've added some more backgrounds that will work with Blogger's new template designer, you can find them at my other blog at Backgroundfairy.com

These graphics are from an early Natural History book. This is an interesting pair of cracked eggs, about to hatch some baby chicks! I've included the original version with it's old creamy background and a cleaned up black and white version as well.

Vintage Clip Art - Dog with Blue Collar

This is another one from my "accidental" trip to the antique mall last week! This one is piece of antique Victorian scrap, these pieces were often made in Germany but it's not marked so I can't say for sure. What a strong proud looking Dog this guy is, I wish I could tell you what breed he is, but I guess I don't know my breeds that well! Please clue me in, if you know.

Vintage Download - Amazing Crown - Black and White

Some of you may remember the crown sheet music that I posted HERE. It's been quite popular so, I thought I would post this black and white version of the same crown, with out the lettering. This would be another great candidate for iron on transfer projects, like towels, pillows etc. I hope you can find a use for it!

Old Photo - Glamour Girl - Beauty

How divine is this antique photo postcard?!! I think I probably paid way too much for this one, but I was smitten and couldn't help myself! What a beauty this glamour girl is! I love her pose, her beautiful face, the her soft green dress and of course that amazing gilded folding screen! While I was cleaning this one up, I came up with two versions. The one at the top has lovely sepia tones and the one at the bottom has wonderful smoky grey tones. I hope you like her too!

Brag Monday - Moon Faced Clock & Victoria Collage

It's time for Brag Monday #40! Once again I'm bragging about two more projects from last week's Brag Monday party. It was even tougher than usual to narrow this down to two projects this week, there were so many wonderful submissions!

First I'm bragging about this phenomenal moon faced clock piece, designed and created by Linda at Itsy Bits & Pieces. Isn't this amazing?!!! Linda used the Man in the Moon Face image found HERE and added it to an antique clock case. How fun would this be for Halloween?!

I'm also bragging about this really lovely Young Victoria collage, created by Tania at Wild Heart! Tania used several images from this site for this project, including the Ornate frame image found HERE and the Promissary Note found HERE.

Now it's your turn! Have you made something from an image here at The Graphics Fairy that you would like to share? Or do you have a favorite image from here that you would like to share on your blog? Don't be shy, we want to see it!! It's time to brag! You might even be featured on a future Brag Monday post. Just add a link below in the McLinky box and make sure you link back, so everyone can play!

Antique Pocket Watch Image Download - Time Zones

This is another one from the same book that the tiny clocks image came from, that I posted a few days ago. In fact it was on the back of it. This one shows different time zones in the U.S. and uses these wonderful antique pocket watches to illustrate it. The intercolonial one was for Eastern Canada. The two images would be cute framed together in a library or study perhaps, or fun to use for an Alice and Wonderland collage!

Spencerian Saturday - Slanting the Letters

It's time for yet another graphic in my weekly series "Spencerian Saturday"!!! Every Saturday I add another gorgeous image from an early calligraphy book.

This is another interesting and informative page. This one teaches how to properly slant the letters. Kind of a fun piece! This would make a great background page for a collage or mixed media piece. It looks like I will be finishing up with this series soon, there's not much left in the book! I do have a fun page for next week though, in honor of the 4th of July.

Lovely Lady Graphic - Elizabethan Bride

Here we have a very pretty Victorian trade card, of a woman wearing a veil and a striped dress that looks somewhat Elizabethan to me. As much as I adore the bright colors of the yellow and turquoise dress, the veil made me want to make her a bit more bridal looking. So naturally I had to tinker a bit and I came up with the second version done in shades of white. I hope you like them!

Vintage Clip Art - Clocks Around the World

This is such a fun vintage image! This is from an old book, circa 1880's, that I just picked up this week. These great looking little clocks, represent clocks around the world. This would be nice to use for ATC's or mixed media projects.

Once again, it's Thursday so that means it's request day here at TGF!

Here's what I found for you this week:

Ella requested a Bear. I love animal requests, because I have so many wild animal images. This is an American Black Bear.

Amy
was hoping to get a Golf image. This one is from an antique golf Calendar. How cute!

cowboy clip artKaysie was wishing for some Cowboys and Cowgirls. These are from an antique coloring book. They would make great digistamps too! I wish the Cowgirls were as exciting as the Cowboys.

Adorable Victorian Egg Image - Clip Art

Yesterday, my step daughter needed a ride to a friends house in another town. In this town is an antique mall that I shop at occasionally. I had so much to do yesterday and knew I shouldn't stop there so I resolved that I would drop her off and head straight home. Which is what I did... well almost... okay actually I dropped her off and then somehow... I'm not really sure how... I ended up in the parking lot of said antique mall. But it was okay, because I told myself I would limit my time there to 15 minutes and that would be it! Not one minute more! So.... about 2 hours later I finally made my way to the counter with a huge armful of antique paper. Sigh... I tried!
Anyway, this delightful little die cut egg was in that pile of paper that I purchased. Isn't it cute? Don't you love the typography? And the pretty flowers? As far as I'm concerned this egg alone was totally worth the trip!
