Brag Monday - Vintage Number Chairs & French Signs

It's time for Brag Monday #19!!
Today I'm bragging about 2 projects from last week's Brag Monday party!

First I'm bragging about Clara & Marcela from Nice & Easy Antiques. These talented ladies transformed these cute vintage chairs with some white fabric and the vintage number images found HERE.

Next I'm bragging about Susanne from Miniature Dreams. Susanne made these darling tiny signs (that look like rusted tin, but they're actually paper!) from several different French Label images found HERE (you may need to scroll down a bit to find them).

Now it's your turn! Have you made something from an image here at The Graphics Fairy that you would like to share? Or do you have a favorite image from here that you would like to share on your blog? Don't be shy, we want to see it!! It's time to brag! You might even be featured on a future Brag Monday post. Just add a link below in the McLinky box.

Here are just a few rules:

1)
Artwork/creations or graphics displayed must include at least one image from this site. (Pssst - you can link to an old post if you like, so check back in your archives)

2)
Add a link to your items specific blog post (in the McLinky gizmo at the bottom of this post) or page, not the main page of your site.

3) Link to this post,
by either adding the "Brag Monday" button to your post. ( Just cut and paste the code above and add it to your post and the button should appear) or just add a link. (This is required and should make things more fun, so that we can all hop around and see every one's creations!) You could also add the button to your sidebar if you like.

4)Test your link
and make sure it's working! If your link gets deleted, it's because you missed one of the rules, so just reread them and post again!

5)Visit
as many of the other "Braggers" ;) as you can and leave comments on their blogs. Oh yeah, and have fun!

I'll leave the MckLinky open until early Tuesday morning so that gives you a little extra time to put something together if you don't already have something to share!

Free Vintage Clip Art - Old Currency

Here are a couple of pieces that I picked up from a local antique mall awhile back. These are two pieces of beautiful old currency from the early 1900's. I believe they are German. The engravings on these are spectacular and I think the colors are gorgeous. These would be so much fun to use in mixed media artwork!

Spencerian Saturday - How to Hold Your Pen

It's time for yet another graphic in my weekly series "Spencerian Saturday"!!! Every Saturday I add another gorgeous image from an early calligraphy book.

Today's images are actually engraved and not pen flourished. However as promised, I am including every page from this book, so here it is!

This is the page from the book, that explains the correct positions for sitting and holding your pen, for the best results when pen flourishing. The original is just above, and I also am providing the Victorian hands and the Gentleman at the desk, in black and white at the very top of the page.

Also, go HERE if you would like to enter my OWOH Giveaway. You can enter once each day!

Free Vintage Clip Art - Cowgirl + Cowboy Ledger Page

Here are two interesting antique old West pieces! At the top of the page is a fun graphic of a Cowgirl with a Lasso. The second piece is a page from a circa 1904 ledger. If you look closely at the ledger page, you will see several entries for "Cowboy"!! Oddly enough the cowboy expenses are right next to the butter and salt entries etc. Too funny! What a great opportunity though, to use as a background for cowboy or cowgirl mixed media pieces.

In other news:
I'm super excited because I have been chosen to be a part of the Citra - Solv Artists Gallery! My "Grain Sack Kitchen towel" project, using the Citra - Solv transfer process is posted in the gallery. Wahoo! Be sure and check it out, there are some wonderful artists featured there!! Stay tuned in February for more projects using this really fun transfer process.

One World One Heart - 2010 - GIVEAWAY

This giveaway is now CLOSED, a winner will be announced soon. Thank you to all that participated!!

I'm super excited to be participating in the "One World One Heart" Giveaway extravaganza this year!! I had planned on joining up last year but well... umm.. I missed the deadline. Bummer! But this year I'm right on time! In fact I'm a teensy bit early as it officially starts tomorrow January 25th. This delightful and widely popular event is the brain child of Lisa Swifka, who started OWOH in 2007, as a way of bringing bloggers together from all over the world. You can go HERE to read more about it.

This is my giveaway prize! A beautiful bejeweled metal sacred heart from Cody Foster and Co. This is a copy of an ex-voto style relic. The originals were placed in churches in order to ask for prayers or wishes to be answered, or as a way of showing gratitude. This version is done in a gold toned metal, with an applied antiqued patina.

The little prong on the front is used to open this up and reveal a secret compartment inside. Imagine the collage possibilities here!

The back of the piece has a hook for hanging. This measures 7" by 3 1/2", a nice generous size!

Now for the rules: In order to win, just leave a comment. You may comment once per day from now until February 14th. The giveaway will end at 10:00 P.M. Eastern time on Feb 14th. As with all of my giveaways, international readers are welcome to enter. I will ship this to where ever you are, providing it is legal for you to win this, in your part of the world. The winner will be announced on February 15th.

Please note: The item chosen for this giveaway was provided by me, via my shop www.fleurish-home.com

P.S. Help yourself to the image the top of the page. I thought it was quite fitting for the "Magic Carpet Ride Theme"! As with all of my images it's free for you to use for personal or commercial use.
