Thursday is Request Day - Mice, Crinoline Lady, Shed, Monkey, Falcon

It's Thursday so that means it's request day here at TGF!

Here's what I found for you this week:

I had two requests for mice last week, one from Hotdog and the other from an Anonymous reader. I actually scanned this one months ago and totally forgot about it. These are 3 busy White field Mice, shown on an antique Thread Trade Card.

Quite some time ago, Anna had requested a Crinoline lady. I didn't even know what that was until she kindly explained it to me! This one is a Silhouette that I found at an antique mall just last week. I'm a little bit nervous about sharing this one, as far as copyright goes. This image was cut out of something, and I have no info as to the age or source of the image. I'm guessing it's from around the 1920's, but that's just a guess. Use caution with this one, it might be best to stick to personal use for this image. If anyone knows the source of this image, please let me know!

Jenna was looking for a Shed graphic. I have to admit when I found this one this morning in an antique magazine I thought it was just the thing. The image was teeny tiny so I scanned it and blew it up, and then after seeing the larger size, I'm thinking it looks more like a Doghouse. Rats! Yes, I do need glasses, thank you very much! Anyway, perhaps she can still use it.

APaperBear was wishing for a Monkey Drawing image. This one comes from an early Natural History book.

And lastly Diane was searching for a Falcon graphic. This one is a "Bengal Falcon" it was the only one that I could find and comes from the same book as the Monkey above.

Well, that's all for this week. Do you have a request for an image? If so please leave it here in the comments section of my Request Day post, and then check back on Thursday to see if I found your requested image (Sorry but I can't fill every request, I usually pick a few each week). Each week I go back and check under my Thursday posts to find what your looking for, it's so much easier for me that way. I'm afraid I'm a very disorganized Fairy, so please, please please Do Not email requests to me, I most likely will loose it if you do. So sorry but I'm a complete mess when it comes to email! I'm afraid they're just aren't enough hours in the day to answer them all, and then I feel horribly guilty.

P.S. Don't forget to use the search box here on my blog, you might find that the image you want is already here!

  13. First, let me say that I love your blog. What an amazing treasure you are sharing with us! Secondly, I wanted to leave a request for an image. I'm looking for a simple but elegant tree, possibly even one casting a shadow on the ground. My brother in law passed away suddenly a month ago, and I am helping my mother in law create thank you cards for all those who gave flowers or a meal. He lived in TN and always loved the beautiful trees in the fall, so we thought it would be fitting to include a beautiful tree on the card. If you can help me out, I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks!

  14. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas and gorgeous graphics! I have a rather unusual request: I wondered if you have anything I can use to create a notice for my "loo" (washroom) regarding the septic tank - i.e. what not to flush down the toilet! Maybe some graphics of vintage toilets, claw bath etc. Thanks Pippa PS I have some antique cards (Christmas and Remembrance) given to me by my grandmother - I wondered if you would like a copy?

  20. I love your blog! I just printed out some images to use as gift tags for Christmas this year (thanks, by the way, for having exactly the mermaid image I needed), but there was something I couldn't find. I was looking for an image of a mechanic working on a car, or a car in pieces, or a car being pulled by a horse, something along that line, and couldn't find anything. It's a long shot, I know, but do you think you could help me out?

  21. Oh, I just adore your site, Karen. It's so full of lovely lovely images. I love the silhouette of the Victorian lady with the parasol. But ... it's not a crinoline dress, it's a bustle dress. Even so, if the requester loves it, why quibble? LOL. Please keep up the great work you are doing here. I don't know what I'd do without your images. They are simply the best I've found anywhere! XOXOXOXOXOXO!

  24. I haven't stopped by for awhile, and BOY was I missing out! So much awesome new stuff.

I'm working on some initial letter prints and am having trouble sourcing images for a few letters: I (igloo, icecream?), X (xylophone, x-ray?), Z (zebra?) and Y (no idea!). Thanks so much.

  26. I have only just stumbled upon your blog and feel I have struck gold! Thank you for all the wonderful things you post. I have been a paper-lover all my life, and a professional dressmaker for 30 years, and fell in love with the adorable little mice with the JP Coats thread spool. I have already printed it out to frame, and it will hang in a place where I can easily view it in my sewing room. I can assure you that every time I look at it, it will make me smile, and I will remember your kindness in sharing it. Thanks so much!
