Ooooooh!! This one is so stunning, don't you think?!! This is the cover to some old sheet music, found in a book full of bound music. The book dates to the 1880's. The typography on this Vocal Beauties Opera piece is amazing! I love all of the scrolls too. I've left the foxing and other age stains intact, I think the patina on this one is perfect the way it is.

ReplyDeleteI like the look of the age staining, too! And the typography is gorgeous. Thanks! Nancy
ReplyDeleteI agree it is really beautiful. The art is all in the typography.
ReplyDeletebeautiful post xoxo karen
ReplyDeleteIt is fascinating to imagine how the typesetters had to put all the letters backwards and changing the font by hand, and how much work went into one simple albeit very beautiful page.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen!
