If you're traveling this weekend for Easter, please be careful, there were some crazy people out on the roads today. Okay, well... maybe not as crazy as these three, but you get the picture!
I hope you enjoy this funny photo of these 2 bunnies and their kitten friend. Just like the one I posted last week, I am offering the same advice, please read below.
Now a word of caution on this graphic, I would suggest using this one for personal use only. This is from a book that was published in 1937. U.S. copyright law states that if a book, published in this year, did not have it's copyright renewed prior to 1963, it falls in the public domain. I have researched this and have not found a renewed version, prior to 1963, so I feel pretty good about it. But I'm not 100% sure. So it's best NOT to use this one for projects that you will sell.

Oh my gosh- I didn't think the last photo could be topped... but you did it! This makes me laugh so hard I almost spit out my tea!!! Thank you for the funny start to the morning. I'm gonna have to pass this one on to friends!
ReplyDeleteIt's cute... but then I ask myself, how do they get the bunnies and cats to pose like that? And then I realized they must be taxidermied and I feel sad for the kitty and the bunny.
ReplyDeleteCraziness!
Hi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteNo, no, these were photos of live animals! The photographer would pose them and take numerous photos of them until he got the right shot. Still, probably not much fun for the animals, but they were not killed! Apparently, the photographer could only do these photo shoots for a few months out of the year, as he found the work to be extremely frustrating!! The rest of the year he spent his time building props for the animals.
I have some of these books, and they are among my favorite!! thanks for posting and reminding me about them.
ReplyDeleteKaren love your site! Wish I could drop in more often.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a very wonderful Easter

hi, I had a book with these cute little animals with I was a child. I was wondering if you could post the photographers name?
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteHis name is Harry Frees. The books are highly collectible and a little pricey for the old ones, some of them have been published again new so, you might be able to find the new ones in the children's section of a bookstore.
Oh man, this brought back memories. My grandma had this book at her house and I loved it! Wow! I wonder if my mom has it now, I'm going to ask her tomorrow. Thanks for the memories. :)
ReplyDeleteI love these books. I have one in my collection I wrote about on my blog that's similar that features four puppies making pancakes. It never fails to make me smile!

they were nor taxidermided nor kindly treated. They were kept under drugs (chloroform)and died after lot of pain in order to obtain human scenes to make us laugh.... I avoid carefully to collect this kind of postcards, too much pain.
