This is a fun one for New Years Eve!! This is an antique Sheet music cover featuring a whimsical looking Champagne bottle and some fabulous typography. Free Vintage Clip Art - Steampunk Ephemera

Click on the images to bring up the largest size

I think these are just so amazing! These are some early plans for some interesting mechanical items. The first one is a toy duck that appears to swim, the second one is for a mechanical horse and the third is for a Velocipede, which is similar to a bicycle. These are not in my personal collection, but they are in the public domain. I've cleaned these up some, but left most of the wonderful aged patina including some small rips and stains. I love the steampunk look these have so, wonderful for collage or mixed media!

In other news: The winner of the Greetings Rubber Stamp Giveaway was Chris from Evidence of an Artistic Life. She was picked via Random.org.

Craft Project - Chandelier Place Mats - DIY

This weeks project is a super easy place mat project using an antique chandelier image . So fun to use for your New Years Eve table or for everyday!

This is the digital collage sheet that I created for this project. You can click here for the PDF .

I've included a supply list and instructions below:

Supply List:

1) Solid Color Fabric Place Mats - You can make your own of course, but I cheated and got mine at Ikea ( I think they were like $1.49 each!)

2)Iron On Transfer Paper - For Inkjet Printers

3)An Iron

Step 1: Print the PDF above, of the chandelier image, onto the Iron on Transfer paper (make sure you print on the correct side!)

Step 2: Use a hot iron and iron the paper face down onto your place mat (you could trim the excess paper from around the image first, and it would probably give you a cleaner looking edge). Follow the directions on the package to find out how long you should iron the image and for the cooling time. Different brands of papers may have different directions.

Step 3:
Once the paper has cooled, slowly peel off of the backing and there you have it! You could also use this image on guest towels, pillow cases, tote bags, or whatever you like!!
I hope you enjoy this fast and easy project.

Click on the images to bring up the largest size

It's time for the next graphic in my weekly series "Spencerian Saturday"!!! Every Saturday I add another gorgeous image from an early calligraphy book. The image selected today, is not actually a pen flourished image at all, it's actually an engraving. But it is from the same book, and I have promised to share every page with you, so here it is. And well really... it is gorgeous!

The original scanned version of this fabulous Engraved Bird with Banner, is seen just above, and at the very top of the page, is a version I made just for fun, in blue.
This one is a cleaned up version of the original. These would be so lovely to use for labels!

Click HERE to get the Full Size Printable PDF of the 2nd Page

Here is one more set of Printable Christmas paper dolls for you, or your young ones! This one has the cutest googly eyes!! This doll is formatted a little differently in that she is two sided and so are her outfits, so you will actually have a front and a back for this sweet little gal. She also comes with a darling snowman and he has his own accessories, a hat and a corn cob pipe. On both, the snowman's hat and the doll's hat, you can cut a small slit across the hat and actually slide their heads into the hats. The snowman's mouth can be cut open as well, and the little pipe can fit inside. Sooo fun!

I hope you and your families are enjoying a very Merry Christmas Eve!

Free Vintage Clip Art - Christmas Poem

The reading of this poem, ( although we always called it "Twas the Night Before Christmas") was always a Christmas Eve tradition when I was a child. I thought you might enjoy this early archived version of this nostalgic piece. As a bonus it has a gorgeous engraved frame!!!

Here's a second version, with the poem removed so that you can use just the frame if desired.

Free Vintage Clip Art - Antique Santa Postcard

Click on the images to enlarge

Thank you all so much for making my birthday such a special day today!! I received so many sweet comments and some lovely emails too, some that even had some surprises! You guys are the best!
This gorgeous Santa postcard was one such surprise from dear sweet Jane over at Out of the Crayon Box. This one belonged to her Grandmother and if you look closely at the back you will see a postmark of Dec 25th!!! What a treasure. If you collect antique postcards then you know how hard it is to find good Santa cards. And if you can find them they are usually expensive! I think the colors in this one are exceptionally pretty and I adore the mistletoe up in the corner.

Brag Monday & Another Giveaway!

This Giveaway is now CLOSED and a winner will be announced soon! Thank you to all that entered.

Well, it's time for the 14th Brag Monday! I'm going to discuss the giveaway first and then the bragging will commence.

Since today is my Birthday!!! Woohoo! I thought I would celebrate with one last giveaway for this month! I'm giving away another darling set of Rubber Stamps made by Cavallini & Co. The winner will get a multitude of beautiful stamps (I think there are 10 total) and an ink pad, all enclosed in a pretty tin! I use these all the time for tags, collage, and my favorite way to use these is to hand stamp ribbon! Gorgeous!!

If you would like to enter, leave a comment on this post. The giveaway ends on Monday Dec. 28th, and you may enter once per day. And as a bonus, for anyone that is participating in todays Brag Monday, you will get 2 extra entrys for linking up!

Please note: This giveaway was provided by me, via my shop www.fleurish-home.com

So now let the bragging begin!!! Today I'm bragging about two people again.

I'm starting with Petra from Kunterbunt Cottage. Petra made this gorgeous box, with matching flower brooch, using this sweet silhouette image from Here. I adore the colors she used here, the sparkly touches of gold are stunning with the deep red! I hope you will stop by her site and check out her other creations, she does phenomenal things with paper and is quite an expert at creating fabulous cards!!

And next, I'm featuring Jane from Out of the Crayon Box! Jane made this beautiful wreath stocking, using the wreath image that can be found Here. She added some Polish wording to the wreath, to reflect her Inlaw's heritage. I think the wording really gives this a fabulous Old World European look! I hope you will pop over to her site she's quite a crafty gal and has loads of fun projects on her blog!

Now it's your turn!
Have you made something from an image here at The Graphics Fairy that you would like to share? Or do you have a favorite image from here that you would like to share on your blog? Don't be shy, we want to see it!! It's time to brag! You might even be featured on a future Brag Monday post. Just add a link below in the McLinky box.

Here are just a few rules:

1)
Artwork/creations or graphics displayed must include at least one image from this site. (Pssst - you can link to an old post if you like, so check back in your archives)

2)
Add a link to your items specific blog post (in the McLinky gizmo at the bottom of this post) or page, not the main page of your site.

3) Link to this post,
by either adding the "Brag Monday" button to your post. ( Just cut and paste the code above and add it to your post and the button should appear) or just add a link. (This is required and should make things more fun, so that we can all hop around and see every one's creations!) You could also add the button to your sidebar if you like.

4)Test your link
and make sure it's working! If your link gets deleted, it's because you missed one of the rules, so just reread them and repost again!

5)Visit
as many of the other "Braggers" ;) as you can and leave comments on their blogs. Oh yeah, and have fun!

I'll leave the MckLinky open until Tuesday night so that gives you a little extra time to put something together if you don't already have something to share!

On a side note
there will be no Brag Monday next week, I'll be needing some extra time to pull my house back together after Christmas!! Brag Monday will resume again on January 4th 2010!

I played with him a bit and added a touch of color, although I like the original black and white version the best.
